Event Volunteer Specialist
Temporary Position

Overview:

Meals on Wheels of Loveland and Berthoud (MOW-LB) is a nonprofit organization that has been serving the community for over 50 years. Our mission is to nourish and enrich the lives of homebound individuals with nutritious meals and daily contact by caring volunteers. We provide 75,000 meals per year to over 600 people with a team of ten employees and over 250 volunteers. Our office is located in downtown Loveland.

We are seeking an experienced professional for a temporary position to manage the volunteers for our special event, “Meals on 4th”, taking place June 12, 2019.

Position Purpose and Scope:

Our Event Volunteer Specialist will be responsible for managing all aspects of the over 70 volunteers who will make our “Meals on 4th” event a success. Primary duties and responsibilities include: Recruiting of volunteers, updating job descriptions for event volunteers, assigning volunteers to event jobs, training volunteers on event jobs/responsibilities, managing all volunteer aspects the day of the event, coordinating food for volunteers, coordinating a volunteer thank you breakfast after the event, collecting feedback and providing post-event report.

Other duties may be assigned to assist with the daily operations and success of MOW-LB.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Alignment with the MOW-LB mission

  • Experienced in volunteer coordination and/or event management

  • Excellent communication, public speaking and training skills

  • Computer and database skills. Salesforce experience is preferred.

  • A current valid driver’s license and automobile insurance

Compensation/Benefits:

This is a temporary position starting in March through mid-July. It is for 20 hours per week, with an increase in hours the last weeks of May and first weeks of June.

Wage: $12-15 per hour depending on experience
