Meals on Wheels Loveland & Berthoud Sharing the Holiday Love

You can Share the Love with Vulnerable Older Adults This Year

As we enter the last few days of 2021, we would like to remind everyone that there is still time to “Share the Love” with your neighbor! Giving back to the community is a big part of Meals on Wheels’ mission and values, and during this season of giving, we encourage you to consider how you can have an impact on those around you.

Holiday Giving - A Meals on Wheels Community Tradition

Meals on Wheels Loveland & Berthoud kicked off the holiday season in style this year at Downtown Loveland’s Festival of Lights event. It was an honor to be included in this community celebration, where we could celebrate the season by bringing people together over a cup of tasty hot cocoa and roasted marshmallows, and s’mores!

MOWLB Festival of Lights

Meals on Wheels Loveland & Berthoud enjoys giving back to the community at events like the Festival of Lights as a way of highlighting the support that the community gives our organization throughout the year. Meals on Wheels thrives through the dedication of volunteers and the ongoing support of the greater community.

Exciting news & Reminder to Share the Love!

The Festival of Lights served as a wonderful opportunity for us to spread the word about another important event that the greater Meals on Wheels network is participating in.

For the 14th year running, the Meals on Wheels network is participating in the 2021 Subaru Share the Love Event. Over the past thirteen years, Subaru and its retailers have helped Meals on Wheels to deliver more than 2.5 million meals nationwide to older adults and homebound individuals in need.

Why does Subaru support Meals on Wheels? Too many older adults are struggling to stay independent and healthy. One in four older adults lives alone and in isolation, while one in seven might not know where their next meal is coming from. This is simply unacceptable, which is why Meals on Wheels of Loveland and Berthoud provides nutritious meals, friendly visits, and safety checks to the older adults and homebound of Loveland, Berthoud, and the surrounding areas. This vital support keeps people in their own homes, where they want to be!

We’re incredibly grateful to Subaru and its Retailers for supporting our organization and the clients we serve. With that in mind, we thought you might want to learn a little bit more about the Subaru Share the Love Event.

Here’s How it works!

Although the program is winding down, there is still time to get involved!

Now through January 3, 2022, for every new Subaru vehicle purchased or leased, Subaru will donate $250 to the customer’s choice of participating charities.* Meals on Wheels is one of four national participating charities and has been since the inception of the event. Through this event, as a member of Meals on Wheels America, Meals on Wheels of Loveland and Berthoud will receive a share of the donation from Subaru vehicles sold at participating Subaru Retailers.

Subaru Share the Love Event

*Disclaimer: Subaru will donate $250 for every new Subaru vehicle sold or leased from November 18, 2021 - January 3, 2022, to four national charities designated by the purchaser or lessee. Pre-approved Hometown Charities may be selected for donation depending on retailer participation. For every new Subaru vehicle sold or leased during the campaign period, participating retailers will donate a minimum of $50 in total to their registered Hometown Charities.
