At Meals on Wheels we know belonging is important and that it does not move in only one direction.

 A look inside our zero-waste kitchen, where every ingredient is put to good use. From turning donated bread into breadcrumbs to sharing meals and leftovers with Loveland’s Community Kitchen, our team is committed to reducing waste while feeding more people and building a stronger community.

National Volunteer Appreciation Week may have officially wrapped up last week, but the spirit of service it celebrates remains the driving force of Meals on Wheels of Loveland & Berthoud (MOWLB) every day of the year.

A simple postcard from across the country tells a powerful story: Meals on Wheels is about more than delivering food—it’s about connection. Through small, consistent moments, volunteers build meaningful relationships that help clients feel seen, remembered, and part of a caring community.

Earlier this month, our Executive Director, Jeffrey Pomranka, had the opportunity to spend time with the Loveland Lions Club, sharing an update on Meals on Wheels of Loveland and Berthoud and the impact of our work throughout the community.

On Saturday, January 31, 477 Distilling is hosting a Give Back Day, donating 15% of proceeds from its Loveland location to Meals on Wheels of Loveland and Berthoud.

Last Friday, we walked into a situation no commercial kitchen wants to face. Our hot water heater had sprung a major leak, leaving us suddenly without hot water. For a program like ours is not a convenience. It is essential to food safety, daily operations, and staying open.

It was November when the first blankets were donated. Our building, already lacking in storage space, started to transform.

Last Saturday, while the office was closed and most of us were wrapped up in weekend plans, a member of our Client Services team was in the building helping volunteers with our Holiday Project. This day the phone rang.

Because of you, Colorado Gives was a meaningful season of care and connection for older adults in our community.

216 supporters chose to show up for older adults through Meals on Wheels of Loveland and Berthoud.

David did not just need a meal.
He needed someone to notice.

After a life-changing accident, meals disappeared and isolation settled in. Now, Meals on Wheels brings food, friendly check-ins, and the promise that someone will call if he does not answer the door.

On Tuesday, December 9th, life at Meals on Wheels will look similar to most weekdays. Our dedicated cooks will gather in the kitchen to prepare a BBQ treat and our friendly crew of volunteers will load up their cars, delivering each homemade meal by hand to smiling recipients. All the while…

Today marks a profound milestone: the 60th anniversary of the Older Americans Act (OAA)!

We're thrilled to celebrate the one-year anniversary of our Friends on Wheels program! This initiative connects dedicated volunteers with our existing Meals on Wheels clients, combating isolation and fostering meaningful connections.

April 21 - 25 was National Volunteer Appreciation Week, and we here at Meals on Wheels of Loveland and Berthoud (MOWLB) were all-in celebrating our incredible volunteer force!

We are honored and excited to share that Meals on Wheels of Loveland and Berthoud has been awarded a $2,000 grant through the Give Next program at Loveland High School!

A recent Meals on Wheels delivery in Loveland really brought home the vital role our volunteers play in our community.

A dedicated volunteer delivery driver, Jason, was on his regular route, delivering to Betty's home. Typically, Betty waits for her delivery in a chair by the door.

Recently, our drivers had the pleasure of delivering not only nutritious meals but also boxes of Girl Scout Cookies, courtesy of the Girl Scouts of Colorado.
