Volunteer Opportunities
We are excited that you are considering becoming a volunteer with us! Here are the various roles in which you can get involved:

As a Meal Delivery Driver, you will deliver nutritious meals and provide socialization and wellness checks to clients.
Time Commitment
Hours: 2 hours per week
Schedule: Deliver on the same day each week
Shift: 11am - 1pm
Training and Support
Facility Tour: Introduction to our facility
Orientation: 1-hour initial training at the facility
Ride Along: Optional ride along with an experienced volunteer
Ongoing Support: Continuous staff assistance
Requirements
Vehicle: Use your own vehicle with up-to-date auto insurance
Background Check: Required for all volunteers
Age and License: Must be 18 or older with a valid driver’s license for at least 2 years
Substitute Driver Option
For a more flexible commitment, consider becoming a substitute driver:
No Weekly Commitment: Fill in as needed based on open routes
Notification: Receive emails or calls about available routes
Flexible Scheduling: Choose the days you can volunteer

Assist kitchen staff with prepping side items and packaging meals. No cooking experience required!
Time Commitment
Hours: 3.5 hours per week
Schedule: One set day each week
Shift: 8am - 11:30am
Training and Support
Facility Tour: Introduction to our facility
On-the-Job Training: Initial training under supervision
Safety Training: Annual kitchen-safety course (organized by MOWLB)
Ongoing Support: Continuous staff assistance
Substitute KITCHEN ASSISTANT OPTION
For a more flexible commitment, consider becoming a substitute kitchen assistant:
No Weekly Commitment: Fill in as needed based on open shifts
Notification: Receive emails or calls about available shifts
Flexible Scheduling: Choose the days you can volunteerFlexible, expert advice when you need it. Book hourly support across a range of topics—from planning to problem-solving. This focused consultation will help clarify your goals, map out next steps, and identify opportunities for growth.

Support our administrative staff by answering phones and assisting with various clerical duties.
Time Commitment
Hours: 4 hours per week
Schedule: One set day each week
Shift: 8:30 am - 12:30 pm
Training and Support
Facility Tour: Get acquainted with our office environment
On-the-Job Training: Learn while working under supervision
Ongoing Support: Continuous assistance from office staff
Guidance Document: Review the “Office Volunteer Processes/Duties” guide

Spend quality time with clients in their homes, engaging in activities like conversation, crafting, listening to music, and playing games.
Time Commitment
Hours: 1 - 2 hours per week
Flexibility: Choose the client you’d like to visit regularly and set a schedule that works for both of you.
Training and Support
Orientation and Training: Includes procedures, do’s and don’ts, disability accommodations, safety, and activity ideas
Ongoing Training: Optional opportunities available
Support: Continuous communication with the MOWLB support coordinator for any questions or concerns
Background Check: Required for all volunteers
Age & License: Must be 18 or older with a valid driver’s license for at least 2 years

Support Meals on Wheels by assisting with various events, including informational sessions, resource fairs, and fundraising activities.
Time Commitment
Flexible: Varies based on the event
Tasks may include:
Providing information about MOWLB’s services
Presenting to civic groups
Assisting with event setup and teardown
Checking in guests
Managing event activities or games
Ideal for youth/students seeking volunteer hours!
