PRODUCTION COOK
We are currently looking to hire a full-time Production Cook. Please read below and follow all the application instructions completely.
OVERVIEW:
Meals on Wheels of Loveland and Berthoud (MOWLB) is a nonprofit organization that has been serving the community since 1968. Our mission is to nourish and enrich the lives of homebound individuals with nutritious meals and daily contact by caring volunteers. We provide 100,000 meals per year to over 800 people with a team of 13 employees and over 250 volunteers. Our office is located in downtown Loveland.
POSITION PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
The Cook is key to the success of Meals on Wheels of Loveland and Berthoud as they are working in the kitchen full-time and a key part of the team that is responsible for preparing a high volume of outstanding nutritious, appealing, and flavorful meals for older adults and following all the health department requirements of keeping a clean and organized kitchen.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Alignment with the MOWLB mission and Value Action Statements
Be flexible and willing to perform many different tasks in a kitchen
Able to multi-task and/or switch job duties quickly
Basic math and counting skills
Must be a team player and work well in groups
Strong communication skills
Proficient knife skills
Decision making and problem solving skills, often with minimal supervision.
Able to operate all foodservice equipment
Previous food preparation experience
Must become a Certified Food Protection Manager within 90 days of hire
COMPENSATION/BENEFITS:
This is a full-time, non-exempt position, M-F, from 6:00am to 2:00pm with some minor flexibility available. There is also requirement to work every fourth Sunday for approximately 3-4 hours. We have a top-quality staff with an excellent work culture. We provide 120 hours of paid time off per year with incremental increases. Salary Range: $15 - $17 per hour..
