Wrapping Up the Grand Prix: A Race Well Run

As we finish our 2nd Annual MOWLB Volunteer Grand Prix, we’d like to take some time to look back at this incredible event. Not only about fundraising, the Volunteer Grand Prix is also a vibrant celebration of community, dedication, and a collective effort to make a tangible difference in the lives of our homebound and aging neighbors.

THANKS TO OUR DEDICATED VOLUNTEERS

First and foremost, we would like to thank the wonderful MOWLB volunteers who embraced their roles as ambassadors for Meals on Wheels of Loveland and Berthoud. Your enthusiasm, creativity, and commitment to sharing our mission far and wide have been the driving force behind the success of this campaign. You’ve helped raise funds and deepened the connection within our community and beyond, reminding us all of the power of collective action.

GENEROUS DONORS

To our donors, your generosity is paramount. Whether you contributed $5 or $500, every donation fuels our ability to continue our vital services. Your support ensures that not only meals are delivered, but also hope, companionship, and a sense of belonging to those who need it most.

THE IMPACT - BEYOND THE NUMBERS

The MOWLB Volunteer Grand Prix crossed the finish line raising a total of $5162! (That’s $18 more than last year!). Our volunteers showed incredible enthusiasm and generosity. Our Wednesday Wheelies came in 5th Place with $287, followed by the Thursday Grand Slams at $305. The Friday Qualifiers took 3rd place with an impressive $820, while the Tuesday Tire Shakers raced into 2nd place with $1500. Leading the pack were the Monday Motor Stars, who clinched 1st place with a stellar $2250. Members of the winning group, the Monday Motor Stars, will have the chance to win fabulous prizes from Sweetheart Lanes and The Human Bean in our Grand Prize Drawing.

This fundraising achievement goes beyond the dollars raised. It reflects the compassion of our community. With that number comes new connections and new donors, who believe in our mission of serving and uplifting our neighbors in need.

EXPANDING AWARENESS: BEYOND THE FINISH LINE

The MOWLB Volunteer Grand Prix did more than just raise funds. It amplified awareness for Meals on Wheels. Through social media shares, word-of-mouth promotion, and personal stories shared, we’ve been able to reach new audiences and have had the opportunity to highlight the critical importance of the Meals on Wheels Mission. In short, it means more meals, more social connections, and more life-saving wellness checks for the most vulnerable in our community. This increased visibility is invaluable.

While the Grand Prix has come to a close, our mission goes on. The funds raised will directly support ongoing efforts to combat food insecurity and social isolation among aging and homebound adults. The awareness raised through this campaign will hopefully continue to resonate and open doors for further support and community involvement.

A FINAL WORD OF THANKS

To every volunteer, donor, and supporter: thank you! Your generosity, time, and energy have made this event a resounding success! We are inspired by your dedication and grateful for your support. We can’t wait until next year!
