Create Your Legacy
Since our founding in 1968, gifts from wills, trusts, and other planned giving arrangements have sustained and expanded our mission to nourish and enrich the lives of those who are homebound. Legacy gifts ensure that older adults can age with dignity, independence, and the support they need to remain safely in their own homes.
By including MOWLB in your estate plans, you create a lasting impact that reflects your compassion and belief in a caring community.
How Your Legacy Changes Lives at Meals on Wheels
Legacy gifts make possible the daily nourishment, safety checks, and human connection that transform the lives of our clients. Here are just a few examples of the impact your generosity creates:
Rosalie
After her husband received simultaneous diagnoses of cancer and Alzheimer’s, Rosalie was overwhelmed by caregiving responsibilities and her own health challenges. Meals on Wheels provided immediate support, giving the couple a daily hot meal and the chance to sit together and enjoy lunch again. Today, Rosalie continues receiving meals that help her stay healthy and independent.
Rob
Living alone with diabetes and severe arthritis, Rob was declining quickly until a relative brought him to MOWLB. Along with daily meals, our Support Coordinator connected him with home care, nursing, and therapy services that helped him avoid nursing home placement. After months of consistent support, he regained stability and even traveled to visit family for the first time in years.
Clifton
A lifelong rancher with significant vision and hearing loss, Clifton feared he would have to leave his mountain home. When he learned we delivered to his rural area, weekly meals helped him regain strength and stabilize his weight. Thanks to reliable nutrition, he remains safely and independently on the ranch he loves.
These stories represent countless neighbors who can remain nourished, supported, and connected because of the long-term generosity of people like you.
